The Tandberg Storage TS400 LTO2 and TS200 LTO1 tape drives are designed by one of the world's most experienced groups of tape drive engineers. The drives are built around a rugged, precisely engineered aluminium half height casting that ensures a stable tape path platform effectively while withstanding any potential warping forces when mounted into a cabinet.
Both drives offer one of the industry's fastest data rates to minimize backup times. Power consumption is the lowest in the LTO industry and the drives incorporate a very unique mechanical design eliminating the need for special built-in internal fans. Both drives utilizes the Tandberg Storage patented “Smart Gripper” technology that ensures a very secure locking of the media leader pin during tape loading and unloading operations. The drives are also equipped with the Tandberg Storage patented “Dynamic Azimuth” feature which ensures a optimized, correct azimuth position of the recording/read head during all operations.
The TS400 also features an automatic variable transfer rate system to match host transfer speed. The TS800 stores 400 GBytes of native data at a rate of 60 MBytes/s. The drive is equipped with an effective automatic variable transfer rate system to adapt to the various host transfer speeds. It is the latest addition to Tandberg Storage's line of advanced LTO –compatible tape drives. All drives are equipped with Tandberg Storage's patented “Smart Gripperä” technology ensuring a very secure locking operation. The drives also have the patented “Dynamic Azimuthä” feature that ensures an optimized azimuth position of the read/write head during all operations. Combined with very advanced read/write electronics and firmware, these Tandberg Storage drives are designed to give the user many years of reliable and dependable operation.
